Burna Boy wins Best Global Music Album

Burna Boy Wins “Best Global Music Album”:

Nigerian singer and African giant, Burna Boy has won his first Grammy Award with his album ”Twice As Tall” deemed befitting by the recording academy as he won in the Best Global Music Album category.

Congratulations are rolling in as Burna Boy has just won his first Grammy Award. His album “Twice as Tall”, which was nominated along with four others, including the Malian band Tinariwen and US band Antibalas has just won the Best Global Music Album.

This marks the second Grammy nomination for the singer who sold out London’s Wembley Arena and broke a UK music chart and Spotify streaming records with his Afrobeat and dancehall style.

He received his first nomination in 2019 in the same category for his album ‘African Giant’ and while it didn’t win last year, music critics predict he might have a better chance now and they are right.

He also went to Twitter to celebrate his win. He tweeted:

This is coming after Nigerian superstar, Wizkid won ‘Best Music Video’ for his role on “Brown Skin Girl” at the 63rd Annual Grammy Award.

He won the award along with Beyonce, the song’s owner, and featured artists Saint John and Blue Ivy. The award also goes to Jenn Nkiru, who directed the video. (Continue reading here)
