Lata Tondon, the chef who held the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time by a person before Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci took up the challenge, has called on Nigerians to keep the peace.
The Indian chef, who cooked continuously for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019, currently holds the title until the Guinness World Records upheld Chef Hilda’s marathon cooking time of over 100 hours, which came to an end last night.
Chef Lata Tondon previously sent her best wishes to Hilda Baci on her official Instagram page while she was in the middle of her cooking session.
“All the best Hilda…Hope to see you on Official Site of Guinness Book Of World Record Soon !!” she wrote.
Hours after Hilda completed a 100-hour cooking time, Chef Tondon took to her Instastory to urge Nigerians to hold their peace until Guinness World Records confirms that Hilda Baci has broken her record.
She stressed her love for peace and appealed to Nigerians not to make it a competition between herself and Hilda, as it is just a record.
Chef Tondon shared a photo from when she set the record in 2019 and wrote:
“A Humble Request to all my Sisters and Brothers in Nigeria & India to maintain peace and wait for Guinness to officially announce if the Current Record is broken or not. Please don’t make it a Competition it’s just a Record my friends…I am a Peace loving Person and wish same for you”
