“The Shoe Fit Size Goliath” – Reactions As Laycon’s Shoe To The Headies Trends On Twitter

BBNaija season 5 winner and singer, Laycon was one of the artists present at the 14th Headies award ceremony held in Lagos, February 21st.

The fearless pop singer not only took the opportunity but also gave a storming performance at the event that internet users marked as the highlight of the night.

After Lekan Agbeleshe, better known as Laycon’s storming performance, the shoe he rocked at the 14th Headies Awards made it onto the Twitter trending table by causing a funny reaction online.

The singer rocked white high-top sneakers that looked oversized according to viewers and sparked funny comments on Twitter since last night.

A Twitter user, @olobamighty wrote, “Wahala be like Laycon shoe ooo. But I feel say na Biggie give laycon the shoe as part of the prize for winning Big Brother Naija, abi wetin you feel”.

In other news, the Headies Awards held its 14th edition on February 21, 2021, and there were several guests in attendance observing social distance.

Much of the show was pre-recorded and the live event featuring nominees at Eko Hotels and Suites on Victoria Island in Lagos. The red carpet started at 5 p.m. while the main event started at 8 p.m.

The event was hosted by TV personality and actress Nancy Isime and comedian Bovi. This year is special as the event that takes place every December has been postponed to February.

However, this did not stop the show from going on, as earlier announcements saw Fireboy DML leading with nine nominations.

Davido and Wurld followed with seven nominations each, while Burna Boy, former Artist of the Year, had six nominations.

In a forward-looking step, this year also saw the Headies include Songwriter of the Year. The audience could enjoy themselves with performances by DJ Neptune, Fireboy, and the Cavemen. Omah Lay carted home the “Next Rated” award. (See the Headies 2021 Winners list here)
