More Details About Death Of Pastor Who Allegedly ‘Cancelled’ Wedding After Couple Arrived 5 Minutes Late

A man shed more light on the circumstances under which the pastor allegedly called off the marriage of a couple who arrived at church late.

It was previously reported that Essay Ogorry, the senior pastor of the Fulfilling World Foundation, a popular church in Rivers State, died on Tuesday, February 16, at the age of 55.

The report of the man’s death caused a stir on social media, and internet users shared their two cents on the matter.

However, new details were shared online by a man identified as Success Ikenna Umezina. According to him, the late pastor was seriously ill before the wedding and was being treated in Abuja.

He claimed that because of the pastor’s health he wanted to delegate the formalization of the marriage to another pastor, but the groom insisted that he officiate and commit his marriage.

On the wedding day, the pastor arrived at the church and waited for the couple to arrive, but they were late. He called them, but there was no answer.

After waiting a while, he retired to his office and asked the couple to be joined in his office after they got to the church. The bride, overwhelmed by the situation, burst into uncontrollable tears and created a scene.

Meanwhile, a supposed joyous and memorable day turned sour after pastor Essay Oggory walked out the bride for being late to church.

In footage filmed online, a congregation alongside the groom and bride’s families was shocked by the pastor’s reaction.

According to an eyewitness report, there was a mild drama when Senior Pastor Essay Oggory refused to wed a couple for a holy marriage after arriving 5 minutes late at their wedding venue.
