The Orangun of Oke-Ila, Osun State, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, has sent his condolences to singer Davido over the death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The monarch, in a comment shared on his Facebook page, said he is deeply saddened by the death of the three-year-old child, who died after drowning in the swimming pool at his father’s house in Banana Island in Lagos.
He said he is deeply hurt because Davido’s late mother, Veronica Adeleke, saved his own son from drowning about 25 years ago, but unfortunately there was no one who was able to save her own grandson when he was in the same position.
According to his own statements, he cannot question God about the tragic incident and prayed for the infant’s soul to rest in peace. He went on to describe Davido’s late mother as a good woman.
Oba Adedokun wrote,
“So sad, it was David’s mummy, late Dr. Veronica Adeleke that rescued my own son inside the swimming pool some twenty-five years ago. I am sad, what Veronica did for my son years back nobody, I mean nobody to play that same role for Veronica’s grandson, Ifeanyi!!! Who are we to query God, may his soul rest in peace and may Veronica’s soul continue to rest in peace. Fantastic woman!”

It is worth recalling that a few days ago, the DMW boss shared an adorable video of himself and his son having a great time in the pool on his official social media page.
He can be seen in the video holding the little boy with both hands while carefully showing him how to swim and moving him around in the pool. (Watch the cute video here)
