Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, has responded after some Instagram users accused him of being insensitive over a post he shared while Nigerians mourned the demise of his colleague, Davido’s son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
Seun Kuti posted a report on his official Instagram page on Tuesday, November 1, stating “Over one in 10 children in Nigeria die before their 5th birthday due to acute hunger-Report”.
His post came shortly after Ifeanyi Adeleke died on Monday, October 31st, after drowning at his father’s home in Banana Island, Lagos.
According to his critics, the time was not right, although his message is meaningful and underscores reality for many Nigerians.

Responding to the backlash, Seun Kuti said in a video shared on his Instagram page that he doesn’t need to post a photo of Ifeanyi to show he is mourning him.
According to him, he would rather pay a visit to Davido to offer his condolences than post on his social media page because the majority of those mourning the three-year-old on the internet are hypocrites.
He stressed that he doesn’t mourn people on social media because that’s not his style.
