Phillip Ayobami, a former Corps member who posed with a diminutive lady, Ruth Innocent, during NYSC orientation camp in photos that recently circulated online, has denied her claims of being in a relationship with him.
Ruth Innocent became an internet sensation after she shared photos of herself and Phillip Ayobami taken at the National Youth Service Corps Bayelsa State Orientation Camp on Tuesday, March 14th, on her Facebook page, claiming they were a couple.
Ruth claimed that after they met at the orientation camp, they fell in love and their relationship has grown stronger since then.
News of their alleged relationship quickly went viral on social media and the supposed unique love story was reposted on various social media platforms.
However, in quite a shocking twist, the man in the photos, Phillip Ayobami, has taken to his Facebook page to reveal that he and Ruth never had any relationship.
He described Ruth as a clout chaser who published the post to gain social media attention.
“In view of the above, I want to categorically state that I and Innocent Ruth met in the year 2021 at Kayama NYSC orientation camp (Bayelsa State) where we were brought together as the tallest and shortest corps members as part of activities by the NYSC to create fun in camp.
“We never had any relationship during and after the orientation camp. It been two years those photos were taken and I haven’t set my eyes on her for over two years now (sic).
“I hereby advice Innocent Ruth to take down the post from all her social media platforms else face legal action”, he wrote.
