A viral video has captured the moment a new mother refused to hold her newborn baby shortly after giving birth.
In the video, a nurse brought the baby to the new mother in the infirmary shortly after what is presumed to have been a stressful labor, but she refused to touch or hold the child.
When she was expected to take the baby from the nurse and cradle the baby for the first time, she used her hand gesture to tell the nurse to still keep the baby.
The nurse tried again, but the visibly exhausted mother frowned and refused to look at the baby.
