A Nigerian man has sparked a heated debate on Twitter after saying a man’s wife should not be considered his family member.
He shared this opinion while responding to the trending discussion about 24-year-old Moroccan footballer, Achraf Hakimi, whose wife, Hiba Abouk, 36, filed for divorce and allegedly demanded half of his property.
Hakimi is one of the highest-paid players in Ligue 1, earning over €1m a month, so his wife would hit a jackpot if she gets half of his fortune.
However, according to unconfirmed reports, upon her arrival in court, she found that Hakimi had no property or money in his name because he had allegedly placed all of his wealth in his mother’s name a long time ago.
In response to the divorce saga currently trending on social media, a Nigerian man claimed that a man’s wife is not his relative and that he can only count on his mother, sister, and daughter.
He tweeted on Friday, April 14,
“When I say your wife is not your family they think I’m being funny but the fact remains that your wife is not your family. The only female that can ride for you is your mom, sister, and daughter and these are the only females that should matter.”
