A piece of sad news circulating on social media is revealing that a young Nigerian couple has died in a horrific car accident in Sokoto state.
The accident was determined to have occurred on Friday, May 5, 2023. His wife died at the scene while Anas was taken to UDUTH, Sokoto, where he died on Tuesday, May 9th.
A colleague, ASP Isah Lukman Imam, who confirmed the sad news in a Facebook post on Wednesday, May 10th, said the couple, who got married last year, were on their way to a friend’s wedding when the accident happened.
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihir rajiun. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of my brother and friend Anas Bello, fondly known as D.C, and his beloved wife Hassana Musa Yusuf. They were taken from us suddenly and tragically in a car accident while on their way to celebrate the wedding of a friend.
“Anas was a dedicated police officer attached to the Illela Division of the Sokoto State Command, and he was deeply committed to his work. He was also a caring friend and a devoted husband to Hassana, who he married just last year in February. Anas was deeply in love with Hassana, and his devotion to her was evident in everything he did. They were a beautiful couple, and their love for each other was an inspiration to us all. Though their time together was tragically cut short, we take comfort in knowing that they were together in love and in faith until the very end.
“Anas was my course mate in college of agric and animal science Bakura where we obtained our diploma in animal health and production in 2012. We remained close friends over the years, and I always valued his honesty and his willingness to tell me what I needed to hear, even if it was not what I wanted to hear. Despite the distance between us, we stayed connected through our shared experiences and our mutual respect for each other. He was always friendly and approachable, and he had a great sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. Although I was unable to attend his wedding, I know from our conversations that he was deeply in love with Hassana and was looking forward to starting a new chapter in his life with her.
“Anas and Hassana will be greatly missed by their family, friends, and colleagues. We take comfort in knowing that they lived their lives with love, kindness, and dedication to their work and to each other. May their souls rest in peace, and may their memories continue to inspire us all
Allah ya gafarta maku yasa Aljanna ce makomarku damu gaba daya. Amin ya rabbi If you come across this please say a prayer for them. Thank you. ASP Isah Lukman Imam.” He wrote.
