A Zambian man identified simply as Nathan Mith, has committed suicide after his wife, Sabby Phiri, cheated on him with another man.
Nathan Mith, a member of the Ghetto Link, a popular Zambian music group, died a few days ago and was buried on Thursday, December 14th, 2023.
In a long suicide note posted on his Facebook wall, Mithi reveals the problems in his marriage with Sabby and accuses her of infidelity, deception, and a luxurious lifestyle.
He started the post,
“If you are seeing this then I am probably DEAD! Ati ‘I need space’ Kansi ah Nyegesa Kunja (however, she is sleeping around). Don’t Skip but learn from me. sabby you are the reason for my death.”
He told how he caught his wife having sex with other men in their marital bed, including a young relative and a landlord, whom he openly insulted in his post.
He also cited 15 instances in which he recalled his wife’s alleged infidelity and mentioned meetings with a relative and fellow musician, General Kanene, and a government spokesman, Cornelius Mweetwa.
Mithi, who married his wife in 2012, spoke about marrying for looks and warned his gender against marrying for looks but for character.
“Never marry a woman because of her looks but marry her for who she is. The first mistake I made with Sabby,” He said.
“Looks aren’t everything in a relationship, but they do matter. A relationship based on physical appearance often has an expiration date.”
Furthermore, he accused his wife of constantly having extramarital affairs, which broke his heart and ultimately led to suicide.
“Why have I killed myself? I did it because I truly loved her from the bottom of my heart. My heart could not take the nonsense that she is into.”
“But at the same time, it was true love for me. I have lost hope in love, I only see one woman in my life and that is her.
Therefore! If I can’t have her, then let me rest in peace,” Mithi wrote.
He also revealed that he left Sabby with five children, “three of my own and two from two different fathers. I am not even sure if they are my kids. Chalo ichi.”
“Anyway, enjoy your life, and party harder while you still can, your time is coming sooner! Dodx will never take you anywhere boi. Relax yourself,” he advised the wife. (Click the link to read his full post on his Facebook wall)
