Nigerian singer and politician, Bankole Wellington, commonly known as Banky W, has broken his silence over his recent defeat in the February 25 general elections.
Bear in mind that Labour Party candidate, Thaddeus Attah beat Banky W of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to win the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Thaddeus Attah won with 24,075 votes ahead of his counterparts, Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 18,666 votes and Mr. Babjide Obanikoro of the APC with 16,901 votes.
On Monday, March 6, 2023, Banky W shared an uplifting message about believing in God even after a failure in his first Instagram post since the loss.
He revealed that he had made extensive preparations for his victory, including plans for a Sunday Thanksgiving program and searching for an apartment and office in Abuja; Unfortunately, things didn’t go as he planned.
While encouraging anyone who might have experienced disappointment, Banky W said his election defeat wouldn’t stop him from thanking God.
“For anyone who’s ever suffered through a loss, a disappointment, or a situation where things just didn’t work out the way you hoped… “Faith after a Fall” is for you. For me. For all of us.” He said in part.
