Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, known professionally as Basketmouth, has reached out to those who believe his split from his wife, Elsie, was just a joke.
It is worth recalling that in December 2022, after 12 years of marriage, the comedian and Elsie announced their separation in a press release published on social networks. Although some people initially thought it was a prank.
In a recent interview, the father-of-four claimed that he is currently estranged from his wife but declined to give further details of the split.
In his words;
“I am separated right now. People thought it was a joke but it wasn’t. People said is that a way of promoting a show and I’m like you definitely do not know my design.
I do not bring my private matter to a public space. But it was something I needed to do for reasons best known to me. And yes. We were cool. Everything is fine. We completed 12 years.”
