Popular Nollywood actress, Damilola Adegbite, has opened up about why her marriage to Ghanaian film star, Chris Attoh broke up.
It is worth recalling that Chris Attoh and Damilola Adegbite met on the set of the award-winning soap opera “Tinsel”. After having a child together in 2014, the movie stars tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2015.
Speaking about why she divorced Chris in an interview with well-known journalist, Chude Jideonwo, the actress said she realized that love wasn’t enough.
According to the Nollywood actress, love was just one of the qualities necessary for a relationship to work, but not everything.
In September 2017, the couple divorced. However, Damilola emphasized that she does not regret being divorced from her ex-husband.
The single mom went on to say that she has nothing but respect for Chris Attoh because he is the father of her baby.
Damilola said; “Love is not enough. When you meet somebody and you want to spend your life with them, love is just one of the qualities that you need. But it is not everything.”
