A lecturer in the Medical Laboratory department at Imo State University (IMSU), Dr. Desmond Izunwanne, has been called out for assaulting a female student in his class.
A trending video on social media shows the moment he slapped the student for wearing a mufti to class, even though she explained that she had just returned from the hospital.
The presumably pregnant student was singled out and confronted by the lecturer for not wearing the traditional white uniform to class.
In response, the lady explained that she was ill and had gone to the hospital before coming to his class, but that fell on deaf ears as he slapped her and ordered her to kneel.
He also slapped another female student for wearing a blue outfit to his class.
The video sparked outrage on social media, with many accusing the lecturer of being inconsiderate and abusive to his students.
It has also been claimed that this is not the first time that Dr. Desmond has committed such a heinous act, as he has a habit of attacking his students.
