Popular Nollywood actress and mother of one, Ini Edo, has taken to social media to reveal why she doesn’t consider herself a feminist.

She shared this in a recent interview with Taymesan on the “Tea with Taypod” podcast while discussing the controversial term “feminism.”

The screen diva explained that while she enjoys campaigning for women’s rights, she doesn’t consider herself a feminist because she was raised to value and respect men.

In her opinion, she is not fighting for the position of the “king” like most women, nor is she made to fight for equality with men.

She claimed that she’s content to be a woman and a “queen” as long as her partner doesn’t oppress her and allows her to be herself.

The 40-year-old movie star said in part,

“Being a feminist means different things to different people. I love to protect women’s rights and I feel the need for equality, but I am also a structured person. I have been raised a certain way. I am raised to respect and value men.
