Nigerian singer-songwriter, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, commonly known as Iyanya, has revealed the incredible sum he spent producing and promoting his latest track.
The ‘Kukere’ singer took to the microblogging platform, Twitter, to make the reveal while discussing the high cost of promoting a song in Nigeria.
According to him, he spent around N52 million to record, shoot the music video and promote his single ‘Like’, which starred music superstars, Davido and Kizz Daniel. He also revealed that he has spent at least N27 million promoting a song since 2021.
He added that any artist who is lucky enough to see his song go viral without paid promotions should be grateful to GOD.
In a series of tweets, he wrote,
“Promoting music has become very expensive, if you are lucky to get a song go viral make you Thank God.”
“The cheapest I have spent on a song since January 2021 is 27m. When I dropped “LIKE” FT Davido and kizz Daniel, we spent 52 million, on the song, Video, and promotion. This should not discourage any up-and-coming artiste, you can do it, all you need is consistency.”
