Jnr Pope: AGN Suspends All Movies Involving Riverine Areas, Takes Decisive Action Against Adamma Luke

The Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, is taking action against popular producer, Adanma Luke, by indefinitely suspending riverine films following the death of Junior Pope.

It is worth recalling that the sad news broke out yesterday of the terrible and unfortunate death of Junior Pope who drowned in a river in Anam, Anambra State. (Read Here)

Following his demise, many internet users on social media accused the film’s producer, Adamma Luke of failing to provide the actor with life jackets.

After Junior Pope’s death, the AGN took decisive action among other things, the association suspended the broadcast of films around riverside areas indefinitely.

Movie shoots across the nation on Thursday, April 11 has been suspended. Additionally, all actors are banned from working with Adamma Luke as a producer on any film.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian man has disclosed that Junior Pope’s family needs to raise between 30 and 40 million naira for traditional rites so that he can be buried away from the river.
The young man revealed this in an Instagram Live video where he said that this is the norm for people who die at the river.
According to him, if someone drowns in the water, the river spirits have a right to the body and if the family decides to bury them somewhere else, there will be consequences. (Continue reading here)
