American media personality and socialite, Khloé Kardashian, has admitted that she struggled to bond with her newborn son, whom she had through surrogacy.
Khloé Kardashian welcomed Tatum, her second child with ex-boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, through surrogacy in July 2022.
During the premiere of “The Kardashians” season 3 on Thursday, May 25, she revealed that she wasn’t fully aware that she was expecting a child until she arrived at the hospital.
The reality TV star expressed mixed feelings about the surrogacy process, which she described as transactional, and shared her feelings of guilt towards another woman giving birth to her child.
“I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby,” Kardashian confessed in a confessional. “I take the baby and go to another room, and you’re sort of separated. It’s such a transactional experience because it’s not about him.” She said.
She also mentioned that she was shocked during the entire surrogacy experience.
“I wish someone had been honest about surrogacy and the differences involved,” she said, clarifying that it’s not a negative thing, she added, “It’s still great, just very different.”
Speaking to her sister Kim Kardashian, who gave birth to two of her four children through surrogacy, and Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick, Khloé admitted that the process had been difficult for her.
“It’s a mind-f–k. It’s really the weirdest thing,” she told them.
