A video interview of a 21-year-old businesswoman who claims to have purchased a Mercedes-Benz SUV worth N36 million with her Okrika business is currently trending on Facebook.
[Okrika is basically the sale of second-hand clothing in Nigeria. People buy clothes in bulk from America or Europe, and then resell them at a cheaper price in local markets or online.]
The young woman, identified simply as Amaka, was interviewed by content creator, MC Mbakara, after seeing the luxury car she was driving.
When asked how she was able to afford the car, she replied that she runs an Okrika business that brings in millions of naira a month and attributed the high turnover to the application of a good business strategy.
She explained that she mainly sells her goods on social media and so far, she has been able to buy a car worth N36 million and also pay N9 million rent for her apartment in the Lekki area of Lagos, among other things.
Amaka claimed that she funds her lifestyle with her hard-earned money and that she is not being funded by any man.
The video has gone viral on Facebook, sparking thousands of reactions from social media users, with many expressing doubt about her source of income.
