Benue State Police command men have arrested a real estate agent, Shagbaor Ugosor Japhet, for allegedly killing a lady, Erekaa Dooshimaa, who gave him money to find her an apartment in Benue State.
Erekaa Dooshimaa, a final-year student at Benue State University, Makurdi, went missing before her blood-stained body was discovered in the Brewery Quarters.
The nation reports that detectives tracked down her killers after going through her bank account, from which she transferred 150,000 naira to the suspect.
Unfortunately for Shagbaor Ugosor Japhet, the POS machine used by Dooshima to transfer funds to him has been tracked.
Shagbaor was arrested and when interrogated, he confessed to using the money to stake a bet and that he later called the lady who had paid him for a house and hacked her to death.
“When she arrived at the dark corner of the street where I called her to come I cut her with a machete several times leading to her death. After killing her, I took her body with her iPhone and dumped her body on the street to make it look like someone else killed her”, the publication quoted him as saying.
