Beautiful Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has admitted that there were women who paved her way into the entertainment industry.
She said she won’t give herself more credit than she deserves because some have sacrificed a lot to challenge the status quo and give other female artists the same chance to succeed.
Speaking to African Folder, Simi expressed appreciation for the benefits that come from the work of the women before her.
In her words; “There are women who have worked hard to damn the status quo. So, I won’t give myself much credit than for because I also benefitted from other women who came before me.”
A few months ago, Simi took to her social media to disclose that she had never experienced heartbreak in a relationship.
The mother-of-one made the reveal during a recent interview with Tacha, a reality star, and on-air personality, on Cool FM in Lagos.
According to Simi, who is married to Afrobeats superstar singer, Adekunle Gold, her heartbreaking songs aren’t inspired by personal experiences because she has never suffered heartbreak herself.
In her latest heartbreaking song, “Stranger,” Simi jokingly pointed out that maybe the reason she’s able to make sympathetic music is that she’s a champion for those who are heartbroken. (Continue reading)
