South African Rapper AKA Is Dead

The news reaching us at this hour concerns South African rapper, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, known professionally as AKA, who was allegedly shot dead in Durban on Friday night.

While news of his death is currently making the rounds across the internet, details of his death are still unclear at the time of this writing.

However, one source claimed that the rapper was shot dead on Florida Road in Durban, KZN. Some witnesses also claim that an altercation broke out before the guns were fired, resulting in the rapper’s death.

Another source also claims that AKA was reportedly the target of a drive-by shooting that took place outside the Wish Restaurant on Florida Road.

The South African rapper was planning to celebrate his birthday at the YUGO nightclub in Stamford Hill that evening.

Alongside AKA, his bodyguard was also injured in the shooting and another close friend of the rapper was killed during the shoot.

It is worth noting that AKA was Born and raised in Cape Town, and rose to prominence with the release of his single “Victory Lap”, which was featured on his debut album Altar Ego in 2011. He also gained a following in Nigeria, thanks to his single “Fela in Versace”.
