Popular Nigerian singer-songwriter, Temillade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, has won her first Grammy Award.

The Nigerian music sensation won the ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ category at the 2023 Grammys on Sunday night, February 6th, for her role in “Wait for U,” the 2022 hit song by Future featuring Drake.

Tems, who received three nominations at this year’s Grammy Awards, won in the “Best Melodic Rap Performance” category for her vocal and writing contribution to “Wait For U,” making it her first Grammy award win after four nominations.

Tems recently proclaimed herself the Goat (The Greatest of all times).

The “Crazy Things” singer took to her Twitter account to make the claim after American rapper, Snoop Dogg approached her for a musical collaboration.

Remember that Snoop Dogg told the “Essence” singer that he is a big fan of hers and asked for the opportunity to work with her on a song.

In response, Tems, who has songs featuring Wizkid, Beyonce, Drake, Beyoncé, and others in the tweet, said she’s undoubtedly one of the Goats in the music industry.

Tems said it’s easy for a goat to lure another goat because they recognize each other easily, unlike sheep who are always blind when it comes to spotting each other.

“How you know you that is when you attract the all the ’s. It doesn’t take too long for a GOAT to recognize another GOAT. But the sheep, they always blind af.” She wrote.
