The bereaved mother of a 25-year-old man, Temitope Olorufemi, who was beaten to death by a mob in Akure, Ondo state, has spoken out following the tragic death of her son.
9JaGistreel earlier reported that Temitope, also known as Newcash, was lynched by an angry mob after crushing at least two people to death with his car.
According to reports, he was driving recklessly along Ijomimo Junction, Ijoka Road, when he ran down the victims, who died instantly.
After the incident, angry youths from the community unleashed venom on him, stoned him to death, and burned his car in a fit of rage. (Read Here)
In an interview about the tragic incident, the deceased’s mother revealed that her son is neither a Yahoo boy nor a “ritualist,” as eyewitnesses claimed. She explained that her son was a taxi driver and that his father gifted him the car.
She further revealed that after the deceased graduated from Marshal’s Navy School in Ogun State, he traveled to Lagos in search of greener pastures. But after a while, he went home because he was struggling there.
According to her, Temitope was visiting Akure for the Easter holiday to meet his wife and child, who had traveled to attend his grandmother’s funeral when the event that led to his death took place.
