Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa, has bitterly lamented over singer Banky W’s electoral loss to Labor Party candidate, Thaddeus Attah.
It was previously reported that Thaddeus Attah beat Banky W of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to emerge victorious in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
The result was announced on Sunday, February 26th, at the Collation Centre in Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School, Marwa, Lekki 1.
Attah won the election by 24,075 votes, beating his counterparts, singer, and politician Banky W, who had 18,666 votes, and Mr. Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who had 16,901 votes.
The INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Funmilayo Odukoya, who announced the result, said:
“That Thaddeus Attah of LP, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected; signed by me. Thank you so much.”
In response to the loss of Banky W, Toke Makinwa said she is very disappointed and sad because the singer worked extremely hard for the seat.
According to her, the people of Eti Osa don’t even know Thaddeus, who won the election.
In a now-deleted tweet, Toke Makinwa wrote,
“The news of LP winning in Eti Osa House of Representatives is so painful cos he didn’t campaign, we don’t even know him. Banky worked so hard, Banky deserves to win Eti Osa.”
