Popular Nollywood actress and politician, Tonto Dikeh, has advised parents to be careful about the materials their children read.
She gave the advice in response to a popular clip of a mother who found disturbing books about sex and transgender people in a children’s public library.
In the video, the mother can be seen complaining to the librarian about the sexually explicit content of the book, which was made specifically for children.
One of the books talks about “being in the wrong body”, another has photos of people of the same gender having sex, and the last one talks about genderqueer.
The mother stated that she is not against homosexuality but does not want her children to be exposed to sexual content.
“If you speak against it, they’ll say you’re anti-gay. I’m not anti-gay but don’t be showing porn to my kids,” she said.
Tonto Dikeh shared the video on her Instagram page, warning parents to protect their children because the world is determined to reconfigure their minds.
The mother of a seven-year-old wrote,
“THE INDEED IS GONNO END SOON.
DEAR PARENTS, PLEASE PROTECT YOUR KIDS OUT THERE..
The world is forcing so much on the younger generation with fragile minds.
I don’t judge any lifestyle but I have a problem when it comes to introducing harmful materials to minors…
