US-based Nigerian singer-dancer, Korra Obidi, has sparked backlash online after she shared a video of herself performing at a recent event.
Apparently, the mother of two was invited to perform at what appeared to be a conference attended by middle-aged men and women.
In the video, Korra Obidi took the stage in a glittery mini-dress, grabbed the microphone, and began performing her song. However, the audience seemed lost and unable to connect with the performance.
Eventually, she stepped down from the stage and performed her signature twerk, but the audience just watched without showing much interest.
However, observers among Internet users suspected that the low audience response was due to the demographic composition of the attendees.
Sharing her thoughts, an Instagram follower wrote, “I think this is not the right crowd for your genre of music… I think the organizers did not understand their type of crowd before hiring… Seeing a lot of aged ppl with sullen faces”.
“This looks like someone made a mistake in the event planning. Who noticed that man in the Black suit? Looks like he was casting and binding in his mind. Korra please have mercy”, another user wrote
“Korras performance is for a younger crowd nau, who planned this event? Because Daddy’s are trying so hard not to wipe her cord for neck ”. Another user added.
