A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to reveal why she stopped praying and going to church when she was young.
The former Catholic, who took to TikTok to respond to a follower’s inquiry about her religious stance, said she left the church after realizing that prayer doesn’t work.
She said if prayer works, Nigeria would be a better place now, free from corruption and insecurity because of the number of prayers that have been invested in the country.
According to her, Christians have been praying for Nigeria since time immemorial, but nothing has changed, so the prayers are yielding no result.
Speaking further, she said she has realized that rich people don’t go to church often because they prioritize action over prayers.
She said the rich put their time and effort into their business, which leads to more wealth, while the poor pray for hours expecting a miracle to happen.
She added that she is aware that her position will be criticized but she does not believe Jesus exists or is coming to save anyone.
In her opinion, religious fanaticism in this part of the world is the major reason why pastors can easily fool their congregations.
