Bobrisky In Prison
Popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months in prison without the possibility of a fine.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court, Lagos, delivered the judgment this morning, April 12th. Keep in mind that the EFCC on April 5th arraigned Bobrisky in court on six counts including naira misuse and money laundering.
However, the court dismissed the money laundering charge but found him guilty of misuse of naira after he confessed to the crime. At that time, the court ordered him to be remanded in custody by the EFCC in Lagos.
The judge also adjourned the case to April 9, but the court could not convene due to the Eid Fitri holiday from April 9 to 11. Unfortunately, the controversial crossdresser now faces six months in prison.
As expected, the verdict sparked an outcry on social media, with many internet users condemning it and others sympathizing with Bobrisky.
