Ekiti Chef, Damilola Adeparusi, better known as Chef Dammy, has revealed that her just-completed cooking marathon wasn’t an attempt to break the Guinness World Record.

The young Chef revealed this in an interview with BBC Yoruba after successfully reaching her 120-hour goal.

Chef Dammy, an undergraduate from Ekiti State, garnered viral attention on social media when she embarked on the extraordinary feat of cooking non-stop for 120 hours.

Many social media users assumed that her endeavor was an attempt to beat Nigerian Chef, Hilda Baci’s record for the longest cooking time by a single person.

However, during her recent interview with the BBC, Chef Dammy made it clear that her remarkable achievement was simply a personal challenge fueled by her love for cooking.

“I did it because I enjoy cooking. I didn’t do it to be recognized by the Guinness World Record or to break Hilda Baci’s record,” she said in Yoruba.

This is coming after Guinness World Records had broken its silence on Nigerian Chef, Damilola Adeparusi’s 120-hour cook-a-thon.A response received from the organization suggests that the Chef did not seek their approval before the start of the cook-a-Thon, as there are procedures and rules that would have been sent to her to follow.
