Ekiti Chef, Damilola Adeparusi, better known as Chef Dammy, has revealed that her just-completed cooking marathon wasn’t an attempt to break the Guinness World Record.
The young Chef revealed this in an interview with BBC Yoruba after successfully reaching her 120-hour goal.
Chef Dammy, an undergraduate from Ekiti State, garnered viral attention on social media when she embarked on the extraordinary feat of cooking non-stop for 120 hours.
Many social media users assumed that her endeavor was an attempt to beat Nigerian Chef, Hilda Baci’s record for the longest cooking time by a single person.
However, during her recent interview with the BBC, Chef Dammy made it clear that her remarkable achievement was simply a personal challenge fueled by her love for cooking.
“I did it because I enjoy cooking. I didn’t do it to be recognized by the Guinness World Record or to break Hilda Baci’s record,” she said in Yoruba.
