Afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced that he landed his first multi-million naira endorsement deal at the age of 17.
The “Timeless” hitmaker said so in a recent interview and opened up about how his career has evolved over the years.
According to Davido, telecom giant, MTN, offered him a lucrative sponsorship deal worth 20 million naira while he was still a teenager.
He said that N20m meant a lot of money to him at that time because he only had two successful songs making the airwaves. He added that this experience opened his eyes to the immense financial possibilities within the music industry.
Because of the offer, the 30-year-old singer eventually developed the confidence to pitch his music career to his father, who accepted his vision and built him a studio.
