Former security guards, the Happie Boys, have publicly apologized to the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, for calling him out on the internet.
It’s worth recalling that the boys, who rose to fame after being fired for dancing at a retail food outlet, recently made headlines for accusing the cleric of failing to keep his promise to fund their education abroad.
They claimed that he only cared for them for six months and told them to wait another six months before he could provide any further assistance because he was struggling financially. They said all their attempts to ask him for help had been in vain as he either ignored their messages or pretended to be broke.
Their accusations did not sit well with many social media users, who criticized them for calling out Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere despite the help he gave them.
In response to the backlash, they indirectly accused Apostle Chibuzor of using their “Star” and published an alleged voice memo of the man of God raining curses on them for being ungrateful.
Apostle Chibuzor, who was initially silent on the matter, spoke up and revealed that he has forgiven the boys for their behavior. He also offered them a scholarship to any university of their choice in Nigeria or the Republic of Benin and said he had booked plane tickets for them to return to Nigeria.
In response to the offer, the Happie Boys publicly apologized to the cleric for their behavior in a new video posted on their Instagram page. However, they declined his offer to fund their return trip to Nigeria, saying that they had no intention of returning to Nigeria.
They said the minister have done his best for them, but they no longer want to benefit from his “Offering and Tithing.” According to them, in Cyprus, they will find a way to survive.
