Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has surpassed the 96-hour goal and set a record of 100 hours and counting.
Hilda Baci had originally planned to finish by 4:00 p.m. today, beating the previous record holder for the “Longest Cooking Marathon by a single person” with a 96-hour run.
It is worth recalling that the 27-year-old from Akwa Ibom state broke the record on Monday morning, May 15th, after surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by India’s Lata Tondon in 2019.
If chef Hilda is confirmed by the Guinness World Records after hitting the 100th hour, she would surpass Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who currently holds the record of 87 hours and 45 minutes of continuous cooking.
Currently, viewers at the cook-a-thon competition at the Amore Gardens in Lekki are uploading videos of themselves applauding the young chef and congratulating her on reaching the milestone.
