Popular Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, known professionally as Iyanya, has responded to Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson’s claim that he cheated on her during their relationship with Tonto Dikeh.
Yvonne Nelson went viral on the internet on Monday afternoon after her memoir titled, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson”, was released.
In the book, which contained never-before-heard revelations about her life, Yvonne revealed that her relationship with Nigerian singer, Iyanya, ended after she found out he was cheating on her with popular Nollywood actress and politician, Tonto Dikeh.
In Chapter 10 of the book, titled “Iyanya and My Love Life”, Yvonne delves into her relationship with Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk and the heartbreaking betrayal she suffered.
Yvonne describes their romance as a fairytale affair filled with romantic gestures like breakfast in bed. She even says she believed their love was forever when Iyanya tattooed her initials, YN, on his wrist as a symbol of their devotion.
She claimed that she never anticipated the breakup because she thought their relationship was real until a stranger called her from his home and informed her of Tonto Dikeh’s constant visits.
According to Yvonne, she had taken to Twitter to challenge Tonto but the latter had told her to move on because feelings were changing and the singer’s feelings towards her had changed as well.
However, when Iyanya responded to the allegations via his Twitter account on Monday, he expressed his shock and promised to respond later.
“So Yvonne Nelson said I cheated on her with Tonto Dikeh? Oh wow. I’ll respond to this later. I no go write a book, but… for now, make I go watch my new video director just send me now. Love & Trust Ft Joeboy,” he tweeted.
Citing a snapshot from the chapter about their affair, he asked, “What’s the name of the person who called her from my house? After that question, we will answer if her accusations are true or false and what really transpired. ‘LOVE & TRUST”
