A throwback video of famed gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, performing Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti’s hit song, “Zombie” has gone viral on social media.
The gospel singer, who rose to fame after winning the popular talent show Nigeria Idol in 2012, can be seen on stage performing an energetic Fela’s Zombie in the viral clip.
The “Obinasom” singer was brought on stage in a box, and after opening it, she popped out and gave an electrifying performance that wowed audiences and judges alike.
The judges were impressed with Mercy Chinwo’s energetic performance, so Fela Kuti’s eldest son, Femi Kuti, who was one of the judges, praised her performance.
