Some natives of Fugar community in Edo State were thrown into party mode after their “mother,” a giant python, “returned home.”
A trending video showing the procession held to celebrate the return of the giant python has gone viral since it was shared on social media.
In one of the viral videos, residents of the community can be seen cheering over the New Year visit and further performing a ritual for their “mother”.
A man sitting on the bare floor also put his arms around the magnanimous reptile and is seen hugging it delightfully in another video.
The videos prompted a flood of reactions from social media users, who shared their thoughts on the traditional event.
