A video has surfaced on social media showing Nigerians struggling to enter bank halls to exchange old naira notes for new ones.
It is worth recalling that the Central Bank of Nigeria initially resisted the original date of expiration for the old notes, causing extreme tension and a struggle to get to the banks before the due date, but has now announced that the President has approved a 10-day extension to encourage more Nigerians to quickly deposit the old notes.
The videos showed citizens fighting and trying to enter the already crowded compounds as security forces were unable to control the crowd.
