Popular Colombian singer and songwriter, Shakira and her footballer partner, Gerard Pique, have split after eleven years of dating.
The couple have been together since 2010 and have two sons together, Milan and Sasha.
The Colombian singer’s communication agency issued a press release on Saturday, May 4th to announce their separation.
The statement reads, “We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
The announcement comes shortly after Gerard Pique was reportedly caught pants down with another woman.
Amid the scandal, model Suzy Cortez, better known as Miss BumBum, also claimed that the footballer asked her out.
She claimed that Pique slid into her DMs and once asked for the measurements of one of her body parts.
She said,
“He was the one who sent me -message- more direct. The only Barcelona players who never sent me anything were Messi and Coutinho. They are great husbands and they respect their wives a lot. Shakira didn’t deserve this.”
Shortly after news of Pique’s infidelity circulated on social media, he was kicked out of their family home by the Colombian singer and they lived apart for a few weeks before officially going their separate ways.
