Popular Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham, has responded after being heavily criticized over her choice of a presidential candidate.
The filmmaker, who is a strong supporter of APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been regularly followed on social media since declaring her support for the APC leader.
Some trolls even went so far as to rain curses on her and her family for choosing to support and campaign for the former Lagos state governor.
Responding to the backlash, the 40-year-old actress said she was not paid to support any political party and that it was based solely on her free will.
Regarding those who cursed her, Toyin made a conditional statement that if she collected money to campaign for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, then the curses should come to pass in her life.
She also prayed against untimely death and career decline because of the severe curses she had received.
In a now-deleted post, Toyin wrote in Yoruba,
“Ti mo ba gba owo, imo yin ase le mi Lori but if it’s just my choice and nothing more gbagbe eni ti o je gbi ko le ku gbi
In translation, “If I collect money, your wish will come to pass on me but if it’s just my choice and nothing more forgetting the person that eats gbi can’t die
