Maria Precious Tunde, a final-year student at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), has died in her sleep.
According to reports, the final-year student went to bed perfectly fine on the night of her death. However, when her co-tenants tried to wake her up in the next morning, she didn’t answer. After all attempts to revive her failed, the co-tenants invited her parents to the scene.
The Nigerian Tribune reports that the sad incident took place on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at the deceased’s off-campus hostel, located at Ekosodin Village, a student town near the school.
Until her death, Maria Precious Tunde was a final-year student in the Faculty of Education at the Ugbowo campus of the institution.
In a piece of related news, a student of the Yobe State University (YSU) Damaturu, Maryam Lawan Goroma, died shortly after writing an examination.
Maryam Lawan Goroma, who was studying chemistry at the university, reportedly collapsed on Thursday evening, April 27th, and was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A classmate of the deceased, Bukar Maisandari, who confirmed the tragic incident on Facebook, said Maryam was in good health before her death. (Continue reading)
